For a better effect, instead of just saying clap, actually clap, especially for the last line of the story.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/momlovesbest.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Clap-Once-For-Yes-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"hands pressed against glass\" class=\"wp-image-1549174\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>A family was camping and left their tent to go on a day hike. They were a few hours from their campsite when a storm suddenly blew up. They became disoriented in the wind and driving rain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They tried to trace their steps back to the campsite but became lost in the unfamiliar backcountry. Being experienced hikers, they knew once they were lost it was best to stay in one place than wander in the woods, so they prepared to settle down and wait for rescue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Darkness fell, and the family built a fire to keep warm. As they snuggled up against each other and started to drift off to sleep, they heard a noise coming from the trees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cWho\u2019s there?\u201d one of the parents called, but there was no answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then they heard the sound again. But once more, when they called out, there was no answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cPerhaps it\u2019s someone who can\u2019t speak,\u201d suggested the daughter. So her mom called out, \u201cIs there anyone there? Clap once for yes and twice for no.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There was one clap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cYou were right,\u201d the parents said to their daughter. \u201cThere is someone out there.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAre you here to rescue us?\u201d shouted the mom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clap clap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAre you lost like us?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clap clap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cDo you live out here in the woods?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clap clap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cLet me try,\u201d said the son. \u201cAre you a boy?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clap clap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAre you a girl?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clap clap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They all looked at each other, puzzled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Thinking he was being funny, the son asked: \u201cAre you human?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clap clap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Now, the family was scared.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cAre you alone?\u201d called the mom.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clap clap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The family huddled together more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cHow many of you are there then?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap clap \u2026.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This story is good for scaring your kids at any time, but it is especially excellent if you\u2019re camping, or planning to go for a hike.
