If there is\u00a0<strong>P<\/strong>\u00a0number of poles presents in the DC machine, then total flux produced by a machine is;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6245\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>If the actual speed of the rotor is N, then the time taken to complete one revolution is;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-2.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6246\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to faraday\u2019s law of electromagnetic induction, the induced EMF of the armature conductor is equal to the rate of change of flux.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hence,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-3.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6247\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Induced EMF in once the conductor is;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6248\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-5.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6249\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>So, the above equation gives the value of EMF generated by one conductor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The total number of conductors connected in series is the ratio of total conductor and a total number of parallel paths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-6.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6250\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Total induced EMF in a machine is a multiplication of EMF of one conductor and number of conductors connected in series.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Total EMF Induced in DC Machine (E) = EMF of one conductor X Number of conductors connected in series<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-7.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6251\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The above equation is a general form of the equation of Generated EMF for DC Generator and the equation of Back EMF for DC Motor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>There are two types of connection for armature winding;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Wave Winding<\/li><li>Lap Winding<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>For Wave winding,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Total number of parallel path A = 2<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Hence, Total EMF (E)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-8.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6252\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-9.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6253\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For Lap winding,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The total number of parallel paths is equal to the number of poles of the machine.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Total number of parallel path A = P.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Therefore, Total EMF(E)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-10.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6254\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/08\/image-11.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-6255\"\/><\/figure>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>EMF Equation of DC Machine Consider a DC machine with the following parameter; P&nbsp;= Number of poles \u0424&nbsp;= Flux per pole (Wb) A&nbsp;= Number of parallel paths in the armature Z&nbsp;= Total number of Armature conductor N&nbsp;= Speed of Rotor (RPM) Now,\u00a0\u0444\u00a0is the flux produced by one pole.
