In the case of a&nbsp;<strong>black and white image<\/strong>, the intensity of each pixel serves as one measurement. So if a black and white image has&nbsp;<strong>N*N pixels<\/strong>, the total number of pixels and hence measurement is<strong>&nbsp;N2<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the&nbsp;<strong>coloured image<\/strong>, each pixel considered as providing 3 measurements of the intensities of 3 main color components i.e.&nbsp;<strong>RGB<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So N*N coloured image there are 3 N2&nbsp;<strong>measurements<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>For face detection \u2013<\/strong>&nbsp;The categories might be face versus no face present.
