Some common examples of force include riding a bike uphill or carrying something in the presence of the earth\u2019s gravity. In essence, work is nothing but a mechanical manifestation of energy. It is represented as&nbsp;<strong><em>W<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mathematically, it is represented as follows;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-stripes\"><table><tbody><tr><td>W=Fdcos\u03b8<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Where,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong><em>F<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;is the force applied<\/li><li><strong><em>d<\/em><\/strong>&nbsp;is the displacement<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s look at the work units below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">SI Unit of Work<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The SI unit of work is joule (J). Joule is defined as the work done by a force of one newton causing a displacement of one meter. Sometimes, newton-metre (N-m) is also used for measuring work. However, as this unit is also used for torque it can get quite confusing.
