While the topic is highly relatable, in more scientific terms an&nbsp;<em><strong>electric current is basically a flow of current or charge in electric circuits<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes both ions and electrons carry the charge simultaneously.\u00a0Electric current\u00a0or charge is measured by an ammeter and there are different measurement methods as well as units of current. Here we will look at some of them in detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is the SI Unit of Electric Current?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The SI unit of current is\u00a0ampere\u00a0which measures the flow of\u00a0<em>electric charge across a surface at the rate of one coulomb per second<\/em>. Since the charge is measured in coulombs and time in seconds, so the unit is\u00a0<strong>coulomb\/Sec<\/strong>\u00a0(C\/s) or\u00a0<strong>amp<\/strong>.
