Take these steps to lower the chance of infection:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Wash your hands\u00a0carefully, especially after changing a diaper or wiping a child\u2019s nose. Help children keep their hands clean.<\/li><li>Teach kids to cover their mouth and nose when they\u00a0sneeze\u00a0or cough. A tissue is best, but the sleeve of their shirt also works.<\/li><li>Clean and disinfect surfaces and shared items like toys and doorknobs.<\/li><li>Don\u2019t hug or kiss someone who has hand, foot, and mouth disease. Don\u2019t share cups or utensils with them.<\/li><li>Don\u2019t send your child to school or\u00a0day care\u00a0until their symptoms are gone.
