However, here are a few associated symptoms mentioned which might help you recognise ear pain:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Pain in your ear which may be sharp, dull or burning pain; for a short or long duration or due to pain in your teeth, jaw joint (temporomandibular joint) or throat\u00a0<\/li><li>Fever\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>You may be irritable.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>You can notice the following symptoms of ear pain in babies and children:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Tugging at ears.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Difficulty in hearing.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Trouble sleeping.\u00a0<\/li><li>Difficulty in maintaining body balance.\u00a0<\/li><li>Fluid drainage from ears<\/li><li>Children with earaches might be fussy.\u00a0<\/li><li>Children may cry more due to earache.\u00a0<\/li><li>After an ear infection, many children might experience a little hearing loss, which is temporary. However, in rare cases, repeated ear infections can lead to long-lasting hearing loss.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have a swimmer\u2019s ear, you might experience:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Discharge from the ear- yellow-green or yellow pus-like discharge, which has a bad smell\u00a0<\/li><li>Worsening of ear pain on pulling the outer ear\u00a0<\/li><li>Your ear or ear canal might itch.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Loss of hearing<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have malignant otitis externa, in addition to the above symptoms, you might also experience:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Weakness in muscles of the face\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Foul-smelling, yellow or green discharge from the ear\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Difficulty in swallowing<\/li><\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ear pain is a symptom that can occur due to any of the reasons stated above.
