Hodling bitcoin doesn\u2019t mean keeping it in your wallet forevermore: it simply means resisting the temptation to sell during periods of volatility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/app.learncrypto.com\/file-manager-cache\/orig\/078\/367\/57e\/07836757e725fbe276b7ed9ad68b749a\/Blockchains.webp\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What does hodl mean?<\/strong>\u2018Hodl\u2019 is simply a deliberate misspelling of \u2018hold.\u2019 If you hodl bitcoin, it means you are storing it in a wallet and are in no hurry to sell it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Buying bitcoin, and hodling to accrue long term profit, sounds like the easiest thing in the world. In fact, it\u2019s surprisingly hard to resist the urge to cash out, both when the market is rising or falling, or to feel that you can second guess the volatility and make more profit by actively trading the ups and downs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trading requires a very specific skill set and involves much more significant risk.
