He served it on a flat plate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018How nice that smells!\u2019 said the stork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The stork tried to eat but there was a problem. The stork\u2019s long beak could not pick up even the tiniest bite. The plate was too flat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Oh! What a shame!\u2019 cried the fox. \u2018I\u2019ll need to finish your meal for you.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fox ate all the stew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The stork went home. She was hungry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Hmm,\u2019 she thought. \u2018The fox is a rascal. What can I do to teach him a lesson?\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She thought a little bit longer. \u2018Aha!\u2019 she cried. \u2018I have an idea.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>She turned back and invited the fox to come and eat at her house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Come tomorrow at midday, Mr Fox,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Then she went home to prepare a delicious soup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fox was delighted. He arrived at the stork\u2019s home at twelve o\u2019clock the next day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The soup was served in a vase with a long straight neck. The fox could not lap up the soup and he was very hungry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Oh! What a shame!\u2019 the stork cried. \u2018I\u2019ll need to finish your meal for you.\u2019<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The stork poked her long beak down into the vase and she drank all the soup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2018Tit for tat!\u2019 cried the stork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The fox went home with his tail between his legs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-heading\" id=\"the-end\">The End<\/h4>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The fox and the stork lived in a wood.
