{"id":9790,"date":"2022-10-13T05:00:54","date_gmt":"2022-10-13T05:00:54","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/mdr.foobrdigital.com\/?p=9790"},"modified":"2022-10-13T05:00:54","modified_gmt":"2022-10-13T05:00:54","slug":"trading-with-three-time-frames","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mudassirbackup.infinitycodestudio.com\/index.php\/2022\/10\/13\/trading-with-three-time-frames\/","title":{"rendered":"Trading With Three Time Frames"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>At the School of Pipsology, we prefer using&nbsp;<strong>three<\/strong>&nbsp;time frames.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We feel that this gives us the most flexibility, as we can decipher the long, medium, and short-term trends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2016\/05\/grade16-multiple-time-frame-disorder.png\" alt=\"Trading With Three Time Frames\" title=\"Trading With Three Time Frames\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Determine Main Trend<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The largest time frame we consider our&nbsp;<strong>main trend<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 this shows us the big picture of the pair we wanna trade.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, on the daily chart, EUR\/USD is trading above the 200 SMA which tells you that the main trend is UP.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Determine Current Market Bias<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The next time frame down is what we normally look at, and it signals to us the medium-term buy or selling&nbsp;<strong>bias<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is a 4-hour chart and it\u2019s clear that\u00a0EUR\/USD\u00a0continues to have a bullish bias.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2010\/11\/240-m-buying-bias.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2010\/11\/240-m-buying-bias.png\" alt=\"Bias\" class=\"wp-image-106232\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Determine Entry and Exit<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The smallest time frame shows the short-term trend and helps us find really good&nbsp;<strong>entry and exit points<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2010\/11\/60-min-entry.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/bpcdn.co\/images\/2010\/11\/60-min-entry.png\" alt=\"Entry\" class=\"wp-image-106233\"\/><\/a><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Multiple Time Frame Combinations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>You can use any time frame you like as long as there is enough time difference between them to&nbsp;<strong>see a difference in their movement<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You might use:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>1-minute, 5-minute, and 30-minute<\/li><li>5-minute, 30-minute, and 4-hour<\/li><li>15-minute, 1-hour, and 4-hour<\/li><li>1-hour, 4-hour, and daily<\/li><li>4-hour, daily, and weekly and so on.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>When you\u2019re trying to decide how much time in between charts, just make sure there is enough difference for the smaller time frame to move back and forth without every move reflecting in the larger time frame.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If the time frames are too close, you won\u2019t be able to tell the difference, which would be pretty useless.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>At the School of Pipsology, we prefer using&nbsp;three&nbsp;time frames.
